Small Victories

Recovery doesn't always arrive with grand celebrations. Sometimes it shows up quietly. It is finishing a painting I almost didn't start. Smiling a little more often. Sleeping better. Laughing with my children and grandchildren. These moments may seem ordinary, but together they tell the story of healing.

When I first began painting, I measured success by how closely my work resembled Bob Ross' paintings. Over time, I've learned to celebrate the small improvements instead. A better mountain. Softer clouds. Brighter reflections. Those little victories have slowly become confidence.

Life is much the same. We often wait for huge milestones before allowing ourselves to feel proud. But perhaps real growth is built on hundreds of tiny successes that nobody else notices. Today I choose to celebrate those. They deserve recognition too.
