Marion’s road to being an artist is one of many turns…most of them unexpected. A native German, she has lived in the US for many years. After serving in the US Army for 15 years, she moved on to other career fields. Moving to Southwest Florida in 2021, she found peace and tranquility in nature, primarily the ocean.

After watching a Bob Ross “The Joy of Painting” episode one sleepless night, she was captured by the simplistic, calm yet motivating demeanor of this gentle, curly-headed man. Following came many more episodes until she finally decided to pick up a paint brush and try Bob’s happy approach to landscapes.

After the first attempt, Marion was “hooked”. She kept trying and practicing, then, after 7 months, attended a Landscape Fundamentals course at the Bob Ross Gallery in New Smyrna Beach, FL in November 2025. This only solidified her love of art, alla prima painting, and the Bob Ross approach to landscape painting.

Marion is currently enrolled to become a certified Bob Ross instructor and continues to practice her skill and deepen her passion for landscape artistry.
