Making a commitment…

I am an artist. There. I said it. It took me 10 months, about 70 canvases, limitless support and encouragement from family, friends and innocent bystanders to get into my head what my heart already knew. I love to paint. If someone would have told me a year ago that I would be painting complete landscapes, in oil, on canvas…I would have laughed at them. Now…I look around my office. Canvases EVERYWHERE. Blank ones, painted ones. Paint and supplies fill the room. The faint aroma of drying oil paint. It feels comfortable. Homey.

This website was created (with much help from my son, cheerleader, and number one fan Kevin) to allow me a forum to post my thoughts and some of my work. It allows me to document and share my journey. I hope you find my work enjoyable, enough so to come back and check in periodically.

I still have so much to learn. I watch “The Joy of Painting” daily. I paint almost daily. If I don’t paint, I think about what I could paint next. Not all of my attempts are winners, in fact, most of them leave much room for improvement. But every canvas is a part of me. A part of my journey. I now know that I am passionately committed to the art of painting. Forever.
